Without question, the state’s climate has changed in recent decades. How do you show the impact on the lives of its wildlife, plants and people?
With a background in journalism, I have a passion for news design and love the challenge of making complex data attractive and informative. When Minnesota Public Radio’s (MPR’s) senior editor for visual news asked if I wanted to create infographics for a story on climate change, I was thrilled.
The MPR News team was excited by the final result, and so were its readers. The story, Climate Change in Minnesota: 23 Signs, was one of the news site’s most popular stories in 2015 and shared extensively on social media.
One Final Detail
After the 23 news graphics were completed, all the visual elements were organized into a style guide for future projects.
